Dream, June 19, 2012 stick with what fails

Dream, home, 2:34 am

A country town of half a dozen buildings – civilization has failed. One by one, pieces of technology are collected and tested. Nothing works any more, so a huge pile of discarded machines and electronic equipment has grown on the outskirts.

3:50 am – We are to move from a ranch-style house where we have lived for many years. As rooms become emptier, it becomes clear how much excess stuff we have accumulated. I wonder how much we could abandon for the use of the new tenants — the washer and dryer still function and would be difficult to haul. I walk around the outside of the house examining the deferred maintenance of the roof and gutters. Tall weeds grow on the roof. Children’s toys, inflated rubber balls and such, have collected over the years.
